Article
Group of words, phrase, or clause that acquires a specific meaning and is regularly used with specific functions, with a certain level of rigidity and inalterability, thus becoming formulaic expressions (cf. Charles Bally 1951, 66-79). When applied to the study of Ancient documents and literatures, the phraseme cannot be confidently contextualized in the inventory of expressions of a langue, but it roughly corresponds to the concept of formula. When phrasemes are borrowed in situations of contact, we will speak of phraseological borrowing.
