METALINGUISTIC LEXICON OF LANGUAGE CONTACT IN THE ANCIENT WORLD
This Wiki, which will constantly be updated, contains a lexicon of metalinguistic labels employed for the description of contact-linguistic scenarios involving ancient cultures and dead or extinct languages. The metalanguage is the one that was developed and refined by the team of the ERC project PALaC, that has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement n° 757299), and employed for the researches and publications of the project. Each voice is structures as follows:
- Lemma: standard metalinguistic label in English;
- Translations of the lemma in Italian, French and German;
- Article, containing the explanation of the label;
- Examples taken from the data analyzed for the PALaC project (when applicable);
- References
